I took these "horse portraits" when visiting Clayton's aunt and uncle in Tacoma last summer. Though I've never been much of an animal person, there's something about horses that I just adore.

I took today's image while visting my parents and family for 4th of July weekend last year. This is a little one man sailboat they have. I love the juxtaposition of the colorful sail against the lone group of trees, and of course the clouds!
Grilled pizza, where have you been all my life?
If you asked me to list my favorite things about summer, grilling would definitely be one of them. Even though around here summer has not quite decided whether it wants to stay, we've already done quite a bit of it. Well, by we I guess I should say Clayton because he tends to be the one that actually mans the grill. I, on the other hand, am the preparer. And then often the post-dinner dishwasher.
Anyways, I was searching for new grill recipes the other day and came across a bunch for pizza on the grill at eatingwell.com. I was intrigued, and honestly pretty excited to try it out. So, tonight we made a pesto, tomato & feta version. Omg. I don't think we'll ever go back to the regular oven-prepared version. Seriously, it's that good. And made with whole wheat dough, pretty healthy to boot.
Here's the recipe: Grilled Pizza with Pesto, Tomato & Feta.
I prepared mine slightly different than the recipe suggests. I split up the Whole Wheat Dough recipe (1 pound) into 6 instead of 4 to make mini-er (is that a word?) versions. Then I used roughly a tablespoon of jarred pesto for each pizza along with 1 1/3 tbsp feta and a handful of sliced grape tomatoes. I sprinkled dried basil on each since we didn't have any fresh, though I'm sure fresh basil would make it taste even more amazing.
Splitting it into 6, the calorie count is right around 300 for each, pretty hard to beat that for something that tastes this good. I'm guessing grilled pizza will probably become a staple at the Curley house this summer :) Next up to try: Smokey Corn & Black Bean Pizza

A few weekends ago Clayton and I went to Spokane for Bloomsday. The day before, we took a walk around downtown, and here were these incredible clouds....almost a rival for Montana's big sky. Almost. :)

This series of photos was taken at Clayton's aunt and uncle's place in Tacoma when we visited last summer. They found this old car buried under dense brush on their property. I love the head-on view and how little bits of brush give it texture. I think the second photo is so funny and odd...they have goats that roam the property and this little guy would follow you wherever you go. He must have gotten a little hungry as I was taking photos :) The last photo reminds of those "people who look like animals" commercial, can't recall the company at the moment but it cracks me up.

One of the most beautiful parts of Montana has to be Glacier National Park...seriously breathtaking. When Clayton and I visited last year for our anniversary weekend, I took a ton of photos. Really could probably complete Project 365 with all Glacier images. Here are a couple, my first is definitely a favorite...if you ever visit and want great photos, it pays to get up early for light like this!
